Rank in the rebellion?

I'm afraid I haven't read Heir to the Jedi yet so please forgive me if this is answered in the book, however in the previews for the book Ackbar was referred to as a Captain, yet in the first issue of the new Princess Leia comic, which seems to start off before Heir to the Jedi, Ackbar is referred to as an Admiral. Was his rank changed to Admiral in the final revision of Heir to the Jedi, or is this a continuity error? Cevan (talk) 03:26, March 5, 2015 (UTC)

Your suggestion looks way better, we should cut down the quote to show solely about Admiral Ackbar's thoughts, rather than a long speech about their victory. Mission to Rodia

In the Evacuation of Yavin IV there reads "Ackbar sent Luke Skywalker on a mission to Rodia". I think that mission isn't the right one... Obi-adi-jinn (talk) 10:54, January 10, 2016 (UTC)

Role the novel Aftermath

In the novel Aftermath, Ackbar learns of Wedge Antilles' disappearance and sends out scouts to find him. When the scouts are shot down, and he receives a short transmission from Wedge calling him to war. Ackbar prepares a small fleet. This fleet fights in the Battle of Akiva. Correcting spelling

Age

In Star Wars: Bloodline, six years prior to The Force Awakens, it is stated that Admiral Ackbar is well into his eighties. Just might add that to the wiki. —Unsigned comment by Mr4ffe (talk • contribs)

Redirect Admiral

Even thought Gial is his first name and Ackbar is his last name, is it okay for this article to be redirected from "Admiral Ackbar"? It should definitely stay titled as "Gial Ackbar", but I feel like maybe it should be redirected from "Admiral Ackbar" because that's what he's more commonly referred to/known as, right? --Retro Reed (talk) 17:36, March 22, 2019 (UTC)

Ackbar in Ahsoka?

Hello there, in Ahsoka Part 7, we see a Mon Calamari sat next to Hamato Xiono in Hera’s trial. This hasn’t been referenced on Ackbar’s page since there was never any confirmation that it was indeed him. However, I’ve come across potential confirmation that it was him. On the image description, Ackbar is directly referenced as being the Mon Calanari. I’ll link it below. I was wondering if this would be considered a reliable site? Thanks in advance!

Retirement

With Ackbar having two appearances on Ahsoka, and soon to have a prominent role in the fight against Thrawn according to Filoni at celebration, I was curious how to incorporate his retirement into it all. Did it occur immediately after Jakku, and last until sometime before 9 ABY, or has he been serving the New Republocnthe entire time, and he retires some time after Thrawn’s return. ~~ Bespashin (talk) 10:21, 28 April 2025 (UTC)
