Canon/Legends tabs
- Without going too heavily into spoilers, it is my opinion that, from the standpoint of narrative impact and in-universe importance, the Canon and Legends Ghorman Massacres remain the formal counterparts of one another, whereas the now-separate earlier Canon event, while derived from part of the Legends Ghorman Massacre, is a separate incident that builds up to—but does not supplant—the Canon Ghorman Massacre. The Canon/Legends tabs on both Ghorman Massacre pages should remain linked to one another, and the newly separated event can still link to the Legends Ghorman Massacre in its tabs, but not vice versa—this would not a new practice for the wiki. - Thannus (DFaceG) (he/him) (talk) 20:48, 30 April 2025 (UTC)
- Furthermore, if it does become the consensus of the community that the newly separate event and the Legends Ghorman Massacre articles should mutually link to one another, the Canon Ghorman Massacre should nonetheless still link to the Legends version as well. - Thannus (DFaceG) (he/him) (talk) 20:55, 30 April 2025 (UTC)
- The Tarkin Massacre is the same event as the Legends Ghorman Massacre. The name of the Canon Ghorman Massacre is essentially the only similarity to the Legends one. Therefore, the Canon Ghorman Massacre is technically a different event while the Tarkin Massacre is the canon version of the Legends Ghorman Massacre.Drour1234 (talk) 23:24, 30 April 2025 (UTC)
- My 2 cents: Ghorman Massacre/Legends and Tarkin Massacre should link to one another, as those are equivalent events. The canon Ghorman Massacre should retain its link to Ghorman Massacre/Legends. Keep in mind that Tony Gilroy said that one of his goals was to straighten out the story of the Ghorman Massacre, so the writers seem to be taking the Legends event and spreading it out into multiple parts, which warrants a link from the canon page to the Legends page. - Brandon Rhea(talk)(he/him/his) 23:27, 30 April 2025 (UTC)
- I agree.Drour1234 (talk) 23:28, 30 April 2025 (UTC)
- I disagree. While to some extent your point makes sense to me, I believe that doing it that way would be non-conducive to our readers, who will likely be looking to look at the incidents from a narrative and inciting standpoint, from which perspective the namesake incidents are more similar. The events of the Tarkin Massacre do align more closely with the Legends Ghorman Massacre, but the fallout of the Legends Ghorman Massacre and its significance as a whole aligns far, far more with the Canon one, and I wholly believe this is what our readers will take into consideration when learning more about the incidents. - Thannus (DFaceG) (he/him) (talk) 23:31, 30 April 2025 (UTC)
- I disagree with your approach being the most beneficial for readers. Most readers looking for information are going to land on Ghorman Massacre, as that’s the first result on Google. They’ll find their way to the Legends page from there. While on the Legends page they’ll make their way to Tarkin Massacre, which—if they’ve already familiarized themselves with the Legends page—is the next logical place to land. Ghorman Massacre -> Ghorman Massacre/Legends -> Tarkin Massacre is the logical reader pathway based on where most people are likely to land from Google. - Brandon Rhea(talk)(he/him/his) 23:38, 30 April 2025 (UTC)
- I agree with this. The Legends page should really link to the Tarkin Massacre because those are the analogous events. What the article actally is should and has always had precedence over sharing a name. Ghorman Massacre/Canon linking to Ghorman Massacre/Legends is fine to show the connection, but Tarkin Massacre and Ghorman Massacre/Legends should really link to each other because they are actually the same event. - I don't really like the idea of the triple link otherwise I agree. Basically I think the canon Ghorman Massacre should not have a legends tab. instead it should be linked in the Disambiguation and BTS - ThePedantry (talk) 00:03, 1 May 2025 (UTC)

(Rover paul (talk) 01:30, 1 May 2025 (UTC)) I PERSONALLY think the link to the legends massacre on the 2bby one should be removed as it is not the same event , think that's why they called the canon equivalent of the legends one involving tarkin the tarkin massacre so as not to cause any confusion between the two, so the tarkin and the legends massacre should have the canon/legends link and the one that is gonna be shown just the canon tab (Rover paul (talk) 01:30, 1 May 2025 (UTC))
- Chiming here only to log Discord thoughts; but triple-linking occurs all the time. Many cases exist (and will continue to) and this'll probably be another. The "main" link should 100% be Tarkin Massacre --> Ghorman Massacre/Legends, but the triple link is needed because it's deliberately misleading to pretend the Ghorman Massacre had "no Legends origins" so to say.—spookywillowwtalk 23:25, 1 May 2025 (UTC)
