Blaster

Isn't the blaster component actually his old slingshot built into the saber? Tglass1976 (talk) 00:03, April 29, 2015 (UTC)

Rename

I suggest this article be moved to Ezra's lightsaber-blaster hybrid and then move his second lightsaber's article to simply Ezra's lightsaber. I feel this would make a clearer distinction between the two sabers. Anyone in agreement? Kyle03 (talk) 21:36, 2 March 2023 (UTC)

  • Has that name been used in a source? If not, then it's unlikely that we would go ahead with that move. We could, however, move this to Ezra Bridger's first lightsaber or something along those lines if that has been used in a source. That would also help make a distinction Lewisr (talk) 21:38, 2 March 2023 (UTC)
    • I believe Ultimate Star Wars describes this lightsaber as a lightsaber-blaster hybrid as sourced in the article. I would also support the decision to move the page to Ezra Bridger's first lightsaber although feel lightsaber-blaster hybrid more accurately refers to this weapon in particular. Although this is just speculation, I feel as though the article for Ezra's second lightsaber is likely to be searched as Ezra Bridger's lightsaber upon the release of the Ahsoka series and some may be confused when it comes up with this saber. This is why I feel the distinction between the two will be more necessary. Kyle03 (talk) 21:46, 2 March 2023 (UTC)
      • Whilst I see and completely understand your reasoning, we need to have a source explicilty use the name 'Ezra's lightsaber-blaster hybrid' before we could move it to that or 'Ezra Bridger's first lightsaber' Lewisr (talk) 21:50, 2 March 2023 (UTC)
        • I see your point also. Is the lightsaber being described as a lightsaber-blaster hybrid in Ultimate Star Wars not a good enough source? For example, Darth Maul's double-bladed lightsaber is titled as such because it is a double-bladed lightsaber. Also, the main image on StarWars.com's article of Ezra's lightsaber features his second lightsaber, not this one. I just feel as though there may be some confusion if both articles are titled the same as they currently are. Kyle03 (talk) 21:56, 2 March 2023 (UTC)
          • I agree there could be confusion. In regards to Ultimate Star Wars, that appears to just be describing the model so it doesn't seem like it should be taken as a name. I believe for Maul's it has been used that way in a source. Looking at the page it appears 'Ezra's prototype lightsaber' has been used, if we can't find either or the two we've suggested then we could move it to that Lewisr (talk) 22:02, 2 March 2023 (UTC)
            • A source I have found for this move is Star Wars: The Lightsaber Collection which titles this saber 'Ezra Bridger (Lightsaber-Blaster Hybrid)'. It then refers to the green one as 'Ezra Bridger (Second Lightsaber)'. This is a source that explicitly calls the weapon Ezra's lightsaber-blaster hybrid. I would also agree with the change to Ezra's prototype lightsaber however. Kyle03 (talk) 22:05, 2 March 2023 (UTC)
              • I just checked Ultimate Star Wars, New Edition and handily it uses 'Ezra Bridger's first lightsaber' so I believe we would be best to move it to that Lewisr (talk) 22:10, 2 March 2023 (UTC)
                • As I stated, The Lightsaber Collection does refer to the weapon as his lightsaber-blaster hybrid so this would be a valid source also and I feel it more accurately describes the weapon. This is also a more recent source. However, if not in agreement then I feel a move to 'Ezra Bridger's first lightsaber' would be more suitable than the current title. Kyle03 (talk) 22:14, 2 March 2023 (UTC)
                  • Unless I'm being just literal, but the source doesn't outright say 'Ezra Bridger's lightsaber-blaster hybrid', which is more why I prefer to lean to a source which does outright say 'Ezra Bridger's first lightsaber.' However, if others support moving to your name then that's fine with me Lewisr (talk) 22:20, 2 March 2023 (UTC)
                    • The source does title it as 'Ezra Bridger (Lightsaber-Blaster Hybrid)' however which is calling it HIS Lightsaber-Blaster Hybrid within the titling structure of the book. It also calls it 'his hybrid lightsaber' on the page for his second lightsaber. It does also call it 'Ezra's prototype lightsaber' on the page 'Ezra Bridger (Lightsaber-Blaster Hybrid)'. As a newer source than Ultimate Star Wars, New Edition, I feel as though either 'Ezra Bridger's Lightsaber-Blaster Hybrid' or 'Ezra's prototype lightsaber' are more up to date. Kyle03 (talk) 22:30, 2 March 2023 (UTC)
                      • If the consensus is to use that then so be it, I personally prefer Ezra Bridger's first lightsaber, but I'll defer to what more think if needs be Lewisr (talk) 22:35, 2 March 2023 (UTC)
                        • In the meantime, will the article remain 'Ezra Bridger's lightsaber'? I feel as though any of these options we have discussed are more accurate than the current title. Kyle03 (talk) 22:42, 2 March 2023 (UTC)
                          • I don't see much point moving to one of the options to then just potentially move it again, better to give it a few days for opinions to be put forward, and then act Lewisr (talk) 01:55, 3 March 2023 (UTC)
                            • I personally prefer 'Ezra Bridger's first lightsaber', as it has been explicitly used in a source. -ThrawnChiss7 Mitth symbol Assembly Cupola 02:38, 3 March 2023 (UTC)
                              • So are we going with 'Ezra Bridger's first lightsaber'? Kyle03 (talk) 21:01, 9 March 2023 (UTC)
