The canonicity of Clone Cards
Something I've been wondering about recently is the canonicity of Clone Cards. Although not specifically mentioned by name to survive the big canon cleanup last year, they were still officially released right on Star Wars.com, with several official news posts made about them. We consider any details released in the TCW episode guides canon, even ones that are no longer present in the current forms of the TCW episode guides, and these cards are basically just an extension of that. None of them are based off strictly Legends material (obviously, as they're all directly from TCW), so nothing conflicts with current canon material.
To add to this, currently over on the Star Wars Rebels Facebook page every couple days/weeks or so, depending on how frequently new episodes air, official digital trading cards very similar to the Clone Cards are released, containing information on their respective character. All of these cards are counted as reliable canon sources, so I think the TCW equivalent, which was also officially released digitally by LucasFilm, should be canon as well.
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get the Clone Cards to load up on the archived Star Wars.com page (I will try again a little later), however the DeviantArt user "darknulus" managed to save a good portion of the cards here. There may be more cards out there that they don't have, which I'll try to see if I can get from the archived website or elsewhere on the internet, but these ones should suffice for now.
With all that said, what does everyone else think about this? I personally believe the Clone Cards are canon, and should be treated as such, however I'd like to hear some other input on this. Cevan (talk) 14:48, January 31, 2015 (UTC)
