what ships

what ships took part in the free world fleet(Mrjosh1994 (talk) 03:54, December 22, 2019 (UTC))

Name

Is the name Free Worlds Fleet mentioned in the movie? If it is, subtitles confirm the caps in each word?--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 09:02, December 22, 2019 (UTC)

Or have they called it that in the Visual Dictionary or some other official source? I feel like there should be a better source for the name than just the movie itself. -- Roguish Knight (talk) 09:33, December 22, 2019 (UTC)

  • Perhaps we should add a conjecture template to the page in the meantime? Plume Tray (talk) 09:37, December 22, 2019 (UTC)
    • I asked the user that created the page to answer here to clarify if the name is used in the movie.--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 23:01, December 22, 2019 (UTC)

Hello my name is Rawtheran the original creator of this page. The reason I named this article the "Free Worlds Fleet" was because during the movie Poe Dameron mentions how there are worlds throughout the Galaxy that remained free from the influence of the First Order but didn't come to the aid of the Resistance due to fear. There is also a line where he also mentions that the Emperor would be commencing attacks on all remaining free worlds throughout the Galaxy if they refused to surrender. Later on, Poe Dameron asks Lando Calrissian to travel to the Core Worlds where the majority of the Free Worlds reside and ask them to come to the Resistance's aid which they eventually did. Perhaps the title "Free Worlds Fleet" isn't appropriate so until Lucasfilm gives an official title for the name of this fleet would the name Allied Fleet of the Free Worlds be a better name?Rawtheran

  • Still is speculative since we don't know if those free worlds provided anything. Since the name is conjectural no capital letters should be used since that usually indicates an official name.--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 23:52, December 25, 2019 (UTC)
    • Maybe we should avoid using allied fleet and just go with unidentified fleet maybe? --Lewisr (talk) 23:59, December 25, 2019 (UTC)

. We actually do have confirmation from the movie that the free worlds throughout the Core were successful when Poe mentioned to Lando that he did it but I will concede the point that we don't know which worlds provided the ships. Perhaps Unidentified Fleet would be a better name or something along those lines since Lucasfilm has not released enough details yet. User:Rawtheran77 7:43 PM EST

  • I suspect the novel when it is released may give some more clues about it --Lewisr (talk) 00:48, December 26, 2019 (UTC)

Edit

Remove bias: "Restoring peace to the galaxy" indicates the article from a Pro-Resistance POV, removing the neutral point of view necessary for an encyclopedia. Unsigned comment by Buddydog262 (talk • contribs)

  • I removed the sentence altogether and just left it at the Resistance/fleet winning the war against the First Order --Lewisr (talk) 03:58, December 24, 2019 (UTC)

DP20 Frigates?

  • I'm not sure that DP20 frigates appear.--Noash Retrac (talk) 09:13, January 16, 2020 (UTC)

New Ships

According to [1], a few ships like Blue Ace, Jarek Yeager’s racer, and the Fireball, appear in the fleet. It also mentions there are 14,000 ships in the fleet.Totechalienrexstar (talk) 16:45, January 27, 2020 (UTC)

In Bucket’s List Extra (https://www.starwars.com/news/buckets-list-extra-the-escape-part-2-star-wars-resistance) PH states “Also, keep your eyes peeled for a number of mining guild freighters from Star Wars Resistance in the epic clash!” Do we know what freighters he is talking about? Dying to get more pictures and information about the freighters that look similar to the YV-865 Aurore-class freighter. Random00021 (talk) 21:35, February 2, 2020 (UTC)

i saw different types of mon calamari cruisers besides the mc75 is saw mc85s and thoses mon calamari cruiser from the rise of the resistance ride i also saw Paladin-class corvettes in the fleet when they come back ajan kloss(Mrjosh1994 (talk) 23:26, February 4, 2020 (UTC))

  • No, its not a Paladin. Its different. The Mon Cala ships look different to the ones we know. Right now, what it is on the article is all we can 100% confirm--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 23:48, February 4, 2020 (UTC)

Mon Cala cruisers

References for anyone lost: Vanity Fair- https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=7&v=Z9d1bkRC0Hs&feature=emb_logo Bucket's List- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jd2IPIxEy70

MC75 varients?

Also wanted to add that the many MC75 cruisers there, now with the Bucket's list and the video from Vanity Fair seem to have variants, such as shortened or no under tower, extrs engines, etc. and I like it, as it reminds me of how the Mon Cala cruisers are usually unique cruiser to cruiser.

Towerless variant: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EQHVKoMW4AALLcu?format=jpg&name=small JohnWilliamsMovies (talk) 05:32, February 7, 2020 (UTC)

  • Already listed. We don't know if they're variants, so that's speculation.--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 06:16, February 7, 2020 (UTC)

MC80 varients?

This one I'm less sure on but in the fleet there are several ships similar to the MC80 starships and some of them are similar to them, even in the back (around the 2:59 mark in the Vanity video). It would be a cool thought if Home One fought to destroy Palpatine in both of his deaths but I'm not quite sure on this. As a side note, it would make sense as they have said it is easy to transfer models from Clone Wars/Rebels/Resistance to the movies (hence the Ghost, the fireball, and the abundance of Hammerhead corvettes and Peltas) and one was seen in their meeting on Dantooine. JohnWilliamsMovies (talk) 05:43, February 7, 2020 (UTC)

  • If you're not sure then do not add it, there's no point on speculating about it--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 06:16, February 7, 2020 (UTC)

MC85 cruisers

So this is a picture of the fleet from Exegol during the Rise of Skywalker (hi res pic from Bucket's List short from a while ago) and in the picture, especially in the corner, there's a ship I'm pretty sure is the MC85, a model reused from The Last Jedi (like the hundreds of MC75s, Bunkerbusters, and Nebulon-Cs and Bs) https://twitter.com/AdmiralNick22/status/1222651864514056195/photo/1

Source for this video? Would like to add it to Behind the scenes section

Found this clip with some nice unused footage of the space battle that shows a lot of ships that were mentioned in promo articles (Resistance cartoon ships being the prime example) and materials but can't source it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0RNoxNy7n8E. Has the ILM bug on it, but can't find it anywhere else. Is this okay to use as source? If not, anyone know the source? Random00021 (talk) 14:18, 22 April 2021 (UTC)
