Black Prince

I can't recall...was the leader of Black Sunb called the Black Prince, or was that just was Xizor chose to style himself? Kuralyov 13:36, 8 Aug 2005 (UTC)

  • Xizor styled himself as "Prince Xizor" because his father was a king on Falleen. I don't think we have heard a name for the head of Black Sun, just the vigos. SWENC suggests "Underlord". --SparqMan 14:02, 8 Aug 2005 (UTC)
    • I remembered that about Xizor's pops, but I definitely remember him referring to himself as the 'Black' Prince. I guess it was just a little embellishment on his part. Kuralyov 06:46, 9 Aug 2005 (UTC)
      • Alexi Garyn didn't use the title, so I'd say it was Xizor-specific. QuentinGeorge 06:48, 9 Aug 2005 (UTC)
        • Since this was a criminal organization, I'd say the title would be 'crimelord', since FoC refers to Tyber and Jabba as such. Jabba never made an appearance as an in-game unit, but there is a completely finished one in the files, I tried modding him in game and it worked.--1upD 21:24, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
          • No, the established title for the head of Black Sun is Underlord or, in Xizor's case, Dark Prince. And I don't think "crimelord" was really a title IU, but a game mechanics category. Evir Daal 06:54, 27 April 2007 (UTC)

Rebuilding Black Sun

Perhaps a section could be added regarding the actions of Rogue Squadron breathing life into Black Sun in the X-wing series? --Anon80

  • Not sure that rebuilt Black Sun, but breathed some life into it, yea. This occured before the Thrawn crisis so it should go before the last paragraph. Finlayson
    • I added information regarding the release of prisoners as part of the Rebellion's retaking of Coruscant to the last paragraph before the appearances, as they were given credit on the Galactic Civil War article for resurrecting the organization. Jwebb13Sith Emblem 02:33, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
  • This article doesn't really mention how or why Black Sun lost its power in the first place, and had to be rebuilt. I think that could be expanded. Speaking of which, anybody know the date when Black Sun was first organized? (Sirius Shadowflame 22:49, 13 October 2006 (UTC))

Conflicting....

  • In the Darth Maul comic, Black Sun is depicted as having a considerable army and much manpower. And yet in Medstar II it is stated that 'all of Black Sun's firepower could not match the Republic's forces on Drongar alone', or words to that effect. Unit 8311 20:52, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
    • In EaW, they were originally shown controlling a large section of the galaxy. Of course, FoC pretty much entirely replaces them with the Zann Consortium, and they don't seem to be Canon there.--1upD 21:24, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

Appearances

Just to note, the appearances section is listing the sources by alphabetical order, and not chronological. Stake black msg 01:48, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

Removal of expansion template?

I feel that all the information on Black Sun is in the article. Does anyone feel that the expansion thing at the top needs to be removed? Unit 8311 11:46, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

Blackguard

I think we should add the Blackguard to the list of Black Sun ships as they did try to take it over and possessed it for a short amount of time --Tom rules 11:50, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

Appearances Error

I noticed the list of appearances notes the Black Sun as appearing specifically in the tutorial of Star Wars Galaxies. I have played Star Wars Galaxies for four years, and awhile they do appear in the tutorial, they also appear in various other locations throughout the game, including the wilds of Yavin IV, both the Death Watch Bunker and another un-named bunker on Endor, a hidden manor on Rori, and several other locations. The mention of Star Wars Galaxies in the appearance list should be changed to just "Star Wars Galaxies" rather than "Star Wars Galaxies - Tutorial" Unsigned comment by an anonymous user (contribs)

You're right. I changed it. --Craven 16:38, 26 March 2009 (UTC)

Typo in quote

Under the History section, Late Republic Era, there is a quotation that (on top of some inconsistent quotes and italics formatting) contains a typo. Darth Sidious is quoted as saying "so it cannot threaten are designs" when it clearly should say "our designs". Not sure whether the error lies with the transcription or the quote source, but it's probably something to correct. Unsigned comment by 98.194.192.144 (talk • contribs)

  • I'll assume it was just transcribed here incorrectly and fix it. Thanks for bringing it to our attention. Chack Jadson (Talk) 00:11, September 16, 2009 (UTC)

Black Sun during the Old Republic

Just thought you guys might be interested in knowing that in a video of the making of Coruscant for The Old Republic they mentioned the Black Sun district. So apparently they're moving back the formation of the organization 3000 years. Unsigned comment by Lessthan3 (talk • contribs)

  • Yeah, I watched the video and heard them say that. A bit curious they're using Black Sun instead of the already established Exchange from that era, but whatever. --Danik Kreldin 17:49, October 9, 2009 (UTC)

They are also listed on the Bio page for Nem'ro the Hutt as enemies on the swtor site. I'd add the link, but not registered. Obviously they do exist in this Era. --66.67.117.155 13:03, April 16, 2010 (UTC)

Speaking of which, I think this might be a better quote for the "History of the Black Sun" section: |"After the Empire sacked Coruscant, the worst criminal scum organized and called themselves 'Black Sun.' A bit theatrical, if you ask me." - Darmas Pollaran| It has to do with the formation of the group, as opposed to the current, generic quote. --KissMyWookiee WEG icon2 (Talk|Contributions), 00:12, November 27, 2013 (UTC)

Star Wars: Lethal Alliance

In the game Star Wars: Lethal Alliance the Black Sun play quite a major role. Shouldn't that be mentioned to in this article?

Number given in quote

In order to prevent edit-warring on the article, I've made a thread in the talk page in order to discuss the dispute between the quote's referring to Black Sun's forces as "tens of thousands" versus "tens of trillions."

In the English (and original) translation of the comic in question Darth Maul (2000) 1, the quote directly reads "number in the tens of thousands." Here is a screenshot of the quote in question, from the English version of the comic (on Imgur so as to prevent adding unnecessary images to the wiki): Screenshot

If the user who has made the edits would like to provide proof towards their claims here BEFORE editing the page further, it would be greatly appreciated. Further disputed edits on the page can result in an edit war, and no one wants that.DFaceG (talk) 12:59, 3 February 2022 (UTC)

  • FYI, looking at the page's formatting I understand the image in question may appear to be the one of Rianna Saren. It is not, I'm only referring to the one I directly linked through Imgur; the image itself does not appear on this page. DFaceG (talk) 13:00, 3 February 2022 (UTC)
