Introduction
Wanted to get thoughts on tightening up the introduction section and moving some of the material there to the other sections below. --Random00021 (talk) 18:25, August 22, 2015 (UTC)
- I'm going to be cleaning up this article over the next couple of days to make the overall article more cohesive and easier to read. Before performing any mass undos or reversions, please instead add back the individual piece of information you think is missing, understanding that I may have moved that piece of information to a different section of the article. Thanks Random00021 (talk) 20:58, December 29, 2015 (UTC)
- I wanted to get people's thoughts on trimming down some of the information dealing with the aftermath of the battle. The information dealing with the aftermath of the battle (both in the Introduction section and the Aftermath section) seems to take away from the main article which is discouraged according to the Wookieepedia:Layout Guide. For example, the Aftermath section is ~1,300 words compared to ~4,200 words. This in an of itself isn't a problem; however, some areas seem to go into too much detail, like the content from SW:Uprising related to the Anoat Sector and the Iron Blockade. Rather than focusing on the aftermath of the actual battle, the second half of Aftermath section seems to be trying to cram in all the major events that happened up until the Battle of Jakku. "Death of Anakin Skywalker"
"It saw the... death of Anakin Skywalker"
Would it be okay for me to change the "Anakin Skywalker" in the text to "Darth Vader"? I just feel like it's more right, as he doesn't call himself "Anakin" anymore. The reason I put it in the talk page is because I don't want to straight up do it, in case someone wants an input. --LoLuX12 (talk) 01:06, April 10, 2016 (UTC)
- Since he was redeemed at the time of his death, he was Anakin Skywalker once more. Take the Databank entry for Anakin, for example: "Vader saved Luke from the Emperor and killed his evil Master, once again becoming Anakin Skywalker." - Brandon Rhea(talk) 01:08, April 10, 2016 (UTC)
- Okay, understandable! :) --LoLuX12 (talk) 01:10, April 10, 2016 (UTC)
- True, as far as it goes. But this article is about a pivotal battle in the Galactic Civil War. Throughout that war, Darth Vader was a key player, while Anakin Skywalker was essentially absent. So in the context of this battle—indeed, the entire war—the death of Darth Vader is highly significant, and the death of Anakin a footnote.
The article's body sufficiently details Vader's dying transition back to Anakin, but the sentence LoLuX12 is asking about appears in the introduction, where that level of detail is inappropriate. The intro needs to hit the key points. Darth Vader's death is a key point of the Battle of Endor. Anakin Skywalker's is not. Asithol (talk) 11:59, August 9, 2016 (UTC)
Rebel size
According to the last edit to the article, there are 4 MC80a Star Cruisers and 9 overall MC80 Star Cruisers seen in the movie. Can anyone verify that?--Vitus Infinitus (talk) 19:32, November 20, 2017 (UTC)
- That has been changed more times than I can remember, and likewise with Battle of Scarif. Because it's so hard to make things out, it's very difficult to verify, so edits like this aren't normally reverted unless someone has the time to count and give actual evidence (or is trusted). - Tommuskq

That also brings up the question of how many starfighters of each type participated in the battle—Unsigned comment by Rollo1701 (talk • contribs)
Battlefront II mission
Should we include the Star Wars Battlefront II mission on the DS-2 Death Star II Mobile Battle Station seeing as everything on that game is meant to be canon. Also what is the name of the Major on the comms when you play that mission.--Braha'tok enthusiast (talk) 07:28, February 10, 2018 (UTC)
- No because those are just game modes and not actual canon things that happened --Lewisr (talk) 06:52, June 5, 2018 (UTC)
Number of Dornean gunships
- According to this screenshot - http://caps.pictures/198/3-starwars6/full/star-wars6-movie-screencaps.com-12280.jpg - you can clearly see three Dornean gunships in the background.--Shannon, Jedi Knight (talk) 13:56, June 4, 2018 (UTC)
- I see it too, they're angled so they're more distingtive to the other ships. I definately think that means there were 3 Dornean gunships.--Braha'tok enthusiast (Talk) 15:50, June 4, 2018 (UTC)
- Rechecked screenshot again and turns out there are now 4 Dornean gunships! The fourth one was over the Death Star II in the shot and completely missed it!--Shannon, Jedi Knight (talk) 00:44, June 5, 2018 (UTC)

This doesn't sound like a Canon article.
The content here sounds like it is beyond the Canon series and using Legends sources like the too detailed space battle and aftermath. Please check. Jeneral28 (talk) 07:06, August 31, 2018 (UTC)
- Same please give examples of what doesn't sound canon, aftermath section includes canon only sources--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 07:16, August 31, 2018 (UTC)
Dark Lord of the Sith?
Is there some reason why Darth Vader is referenced as the Dark Lord of the Sith in the infobox and not Darth Sidious? Also, there are various references to Palpatine but given the extensive conversation about the fact that in the Canon he is Sidious for all intents and purposes after his plan is successful following RotS (which is why the article name was changed, correct?), wouldn't it be more appropriate to make more reference to Sidious than Palpatine?--130.126.255.78 16:15, December 7, 2018 (UTC)

Commanders List
It appears that the "Commanders List" is fast becoming a "Participants" list, again. This is the same on practically every battle page now that everyone with a rank or prominently on-screen is getting a part in the Commanders part. I brought this up prior and we got the list reduced, but it appears that nothing is stopping just adding everyone whenever someone feels like it. I think we need to reduce it again to simply these:
- Rebels/Jedi/Ewoks - Gial Ackbar (commanding the navy), Lando Calrissian (commanding the fighter groups), Han Solo (commanding the ground operations), Luke Skywalker (for the Jedi) and Chief Chirpa (for the Ewoks, per On the Front Lines)
- Empire/Sith - Emperor Palpatine (overall), Moff Jerjerrod (for the Death Star II), Admiral Piett (for the fleet), Admiral Sloane (for the fleet's retreat) and Dyer and Hewex (for the ground missions).
As to participants, I think it's time we restored the Participants list we used to have a long time ago. - Noash Retrac (talk)

Casualties
I brought this up and fixed up the GR-75 medium transport page about the losses at Endor since I didn't see any evidence they were destroyed. But I figured I'd bring it up here. In so far as I can see on-screen in the film, Shattered Empire, Part I, and in the short stories "Blade Squadron" and "The Levers of Power", this appears to be what we have in terms of casualties: 1 MC80A Home One Type Heavy Star Cruiser (Nautilian) (per ROTJ), 1 MC80 winged Liberty Type Heavy Star Cruiser (Liberty) (per ROTJ), 2 CR90 corvettes and a possible third (per "The Levers of Power"), six X-wings (Grizz Frix, Keir Santage, three lost when Liberty was destroyed and the one lost in the fight against the Executor) (per the film), two B-wings (Adon Fox and Blade One) (per Blade Squadron, though Fox might've been flying an A-wing -- its confusing), three A-wings (Sila Kott, Arvel Crynyd and Kokely) (the former two per ROTJ, the latter per SE1), one Y-wing (Ekelarc Yong) (per the film) (possibly a second [Gureni Telsij] per the canon junior novel which I don't have), the Death Star II, the Executor (per the film), the Pride of Tarlandia, Harbinger and Vehement (per "The Levers of Power) and the Devastator (per BS) and an unidentified Imperial II-class Star Destroyer that lost the fight with an MC80 wingless Liberty Type Heavy Star Cruiser (this could be Harbinger or Vehement), three TIE fighters (one near the bridge tower of an Imperial II-class Star Destroyer, another in the reactor shaft and the third as Admiral Ackbar ordered to concentrate heavy fire on the Executor) (per film) and twelve TIE interceptors (two shot down by Red Two after Sila Kott was killed, one by Wedge with its wingman smashing into the underside bay of an MC80 winged Liberty Type Heavy Star Cruiser, three by the Millennium Falcon in a loopy loop around the EF76 Nebulon-B escort frigate Redemption, one by Red Two, one by an A-wing and crashing into the side of the Executor, two in the reactor shaft) (per the film) and Commander Gradd. That's from what I've found confirmed on-screen, in the Shattered Empire comic and the two short stories. - Noash Retrac (talk) 04:30, 10 July 2023 (UTC)
