Aaris has been listed as a Good article, which means it has been identified as one of the best articles produced by the Wookieepedia community. If you see a way this page can be updated or improved in line with Wookieepedia's policies, please feel free to contribute.
Aaris is within the scope of WookieeProject Aliens, an attempt to build a comprehensive and detailed guide to the sentient and semi-sentientspecies on Wookieepedia.

An important thing to remember about Wookieepedia is we're constantly a work in progress (that's why our logo is the second Death Star -- fully operational, yet always under construction). Just because you see something in an article doesn't mean it's correct. Those dozens of other articles should be revised. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 17:52, August 30, 2018 (UTC)
I understand this is a work in progress. I don't understand is why this article cannot be in a category and subcategory, while many other articles are in both. Category:Sentient species is a list of all named A-Z sentient species, not including sub-species and known Human cultures. I only realised that Aaris was not on the list because I remembered it the last time I looked years ago. It never occurred to me to look into the subcategories Category:Reptilian sentient species or Category:Kathol sector species. If the article isn't listed in the parent category it might as well be non-existent. {{--Humble1 (talk) 11:58, September 6, 2018 (UTC)}}
Because Wookieepedia policy says not to. To quote from that section, Articles placed in categories should not also be placed in that category's parent category; for example, articles in Category:Aquatic sentient species should not also be placed in Category:Sentient species.Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 15:54, September 5, 2018 (UTC)
If that is the policy, I will personally go through each category, starting with Category:Reptilian sentient species and remove them from Category:Sentient species. I had plans to make a sketchbook of Star Wars Aliens and the Sentient species category was the best place to look.--Humble1 (talk) 13:27, September 6, 2018 (UTC)
Just to add I don't agree with this policy, e.g. because no one will find Trandoshan, Mon Calamari, Wookiee, etc articles in Category:Sentient species since they will only be found in sub-categories reptilian, aquatic and mammal.--Humble1 (talk) 07:37, September 7, 2018 (UTC)
That is a terrible policy, because virtually no sentient species are one-trait species... The point of categories should be to be able to find things based on certain traits, not to make things undefindable because they have a certain trait. Ya'll should change the policy... it dont work... its bad. ralok (talk) 23:17, September 24, 2018 (UTC)
I have gone through all sub-categories and removed the containing articles from the Sentient species list. I still do not agree with this Wookieepedia policy and hope it will reviewed.--Humble1 (talk) 09:59, October 24, 2018 (UTC)
There are now more articles in Category:Outer Rim Territories species species than on Category:Sentient species --Humble1 (talk) 18:34, November 7, 2018 (UTC)
Yes, that's called subcategorization. Please don't continue to use this talk page as your outlet for complaining about this. You're welcome to suggest or propose changes in the Wookieepedia Senate Hall. Thank you. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 18:41, November 7, 2018 (UTC)
