"This is the only life we know—the only family we have. I'll fight for you, Racetrack. For Heater, Charlie, for all of us."
―Sync[2]

Sync was a clone trooper in the Grand Army of the Galactic Republic. During the Clone Wars, Sync deserted from the Republic, but was returned to Kamino, placed in a squad of troopers who had defected, led by Heater. The unit was sent on an assault on a Confederacy of Independent Systems weapons depot, and Sync believed they would be able to redeem themselves and return to service. Sync was known for his optimistic attitude.[2]

Biography

Sync was the name taken on by a clone trooper[2] who was created on the planet Kamino from the genetic template of the bounty hunter Jango Fett.[1] Created to serve in the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars against the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Sync would choose to abandon the war, and the Republic, marking the clone as a deserter. Still in the Republic's custody, Sync was given the offer to clear their name with a mission, and the opportunity to either find their place in the army, or stay out of the war for good. Accepting this offer, Sync boarded a shuttle with three other clone deserters, Charlie, Racetrack, and the squad's leader, Heater.[2]

With the goal of destroying a Separatist weapons depot on[2] Melagawni,[3] they flew above its surface in an LAAT and discussed the mission. When Racetrack expressed his pessimism towards the mission, Sync and Charlie stated that it was a chance for redemption, but in the middle of their discussion, the shuttle was hit with a surface-to-air missile. The shuttle crash landed, which killed the pilot but left the four clones alive. The squad made their way through the abandoned city sector towards the weapons depot.[2]
