Sylar Saris was a member of an insectoid sentient species closely resembling the Yam'rii species. Saris' species was potentially a subspecies of Yam'rii.[1] The species was capable of spitting green acid[3] out of their mouths.[2]

Sylar Saris' species in the galaxy

Sylar Saris was a bounty hunter[2] active around 18 BBY[4] who was a member of the species.[1] He was known as "The Slayer of Ordo Eris" and had become highly wanted after performing several bounties on behalf of the Haxion Brood crime syndicate. The bounty on Saris was eventually claimed by fellow bounty hunter Fennec Shand, who was aided by former clone commandos Hunter and Wrecker.[2]

Behind the scenes

Sylar Saris' species appeared in "Bad Territory,"[2] the eighth episode of Star Wars: The Bad Batch's third season, which premiered on March 20, 2024.[5] The episode guide released the following day revealed Saris' species to be separate from the Yam'rii species, but instead suggested it may have been a subspecies.[1]

  4. Per the reasoning here, Season 2 of Star Wars: The Bad Batch takes place around 18 BBY. The tally marks made by Omega in The Bad Batch Season 3's first episode, "Confined," indicate the episode must take place at least twenty-one standard days following her capture as depicted in the Season 2 episode "Plan 99." According to StarWars.com "Confined" Trivia Guide | Star Wars The Bad Batch on StarWars.com (backup link), Omega spends about 164 further days in captivity by the end of "Confined." As such, the events of Season 3 must begin around 18 BBY.
