The swamp puppy[2] was a creature found in the swamps of[1] the Outer Rim planet[3] Tenoo. It had textured purple skin and amber eyes. During the High Republic Era, the Jedi younglings Kai Brightstar, Lys Solay, and Nubs befriended a swamp puppy during a scavenger hunt set for them by Jedi Master Yoda.[1]

A swamp puppy first appeared, albeit unidentified, in "Scavenger Hunt," a comic story published in the one-shot comic Free Comic Book Day 2025: All Ages. The story was written by Dave Scheidt, illustrated by Andy Duggan, and published as a Free Comic Book Day title by Dark Horse Comics[1] on May 3, 2025.[4] The creature's name was later revealed by Scheidt on Bluesky, who also revealed he and Duggan had created the creature.[2]
