Subcommander referred to a Jedi Padawan who was subordinate in rank to a Jedi Knight or Jedi Master in the Galactic Republic's armed forces. Typically, the military rank used by Padawans was Jedi Commander, while Knights and Masters were Jedi Generals.[1]
