Stonroy Soma was a human who served as an aide in the Alderaanian delegation of the Galactic Senate of the Galactic Republic[1] in 32 BBY.[2] Soma served alongside fellow aides Liana Merian and Agrippa Aldrete,[1] and the Senator for the planet Alderaan, Bail Antilles,[3] during the Naboo Crisis.[1] The human at one point sat with Aldrete and Antilles in a repulsorpod in[3] the Galactic Senate Building on the planet Coruscant. Soma had light skin and brown hair. The aide donned a draped overcloak of mauve fabric ornated with square motifs and golden lining, under which an ankle-length white tunic was worn.[1]

Behind the scenes

Stonroy Soma was a character created to appear in the 1999 prequel trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace,[4] in a scene filmed on B Stage at Leavesden Studios June 30, 1997.[5] However, the scene the character appeared in was ultimately cut from the final release. In the deleted scene, Soma sits with Merian, Aldrete, and Antilles in a repulorspod in the Senate Building while Queen Padmé Amidala calls for a Vote of No Confidence in Supreme Chancellor Finis Valorum. Antilles, who at that time was identified as Bail Organa, then stands and seconds the motion.[4] In the current Star Wars canon, the character was first mentioned in the 2017 reference book Star Wars: The Visual Encyclopedia.[1]
