Station chief was a position in the Strategic Information Service of the Galactic Republic and Imperial Intelligence of the reconstituted Sith Empire during the Cold War. In the empire, station chiefs were assigned to planets by Keeper or the Watchers and tasked with maintaining order, monitoring local populations, reporting suspicious activity, containing local threats, and supporting the Sith, military, and Ministry of Logistics. In 3643 BBY, Imperial station chief Lekern Renald assisted Imperial agent Cipher Nine during Operation: Blackout to dismantle a terrorist cell on the war-ravaged world Balmorra.
