The Starkiller crisis^[16] was a galactic crisis launched when the First Order first fired Starkiller Base, a secret superweapon^[1] built out of the planet Ilum.^[16] The First Order wiped out the New Republic's capital and fleet by destroying the Hosnian system, but Starkiller Base itself became a battlefront when the Resistance launched a desperate final strike against the superweapon.^[1] The First Order also lost Supreme Leader Snoke and the flagship Supremacy in battle against the Resistance.^[17] Nevertheless, the First Order continued on its conquest of the galaxy given the vacuum of power with the New Republic's collapse.^[18]
