This is a Japanese-language single released in 1977 and features the Star Wars Theme and the Cantina Band song, as the title suggests.

Synopsis

The Japanese language lyrics for the Star Wars theme bookend the Cantina Song lyrics. In reference to the film's plot, the lyrics state that Princess Leia must be rescued and that Darth Vader must die to preserve the peace of the Universe. The male singer swears he will rescue her from the Death Star; he will fly there in his X-Wing fighter and blast it out of the sky, each time ending the song's lyrics with the phrase "Now we go beyond!" The Cantina Band song also recreates events from that scene in the film, including the killing of Walrus Face by Ben Kneobi. The single ends with the last verses of the Star Wars theme, and the whole single is set to a disco beat.

Notes

*This writer stumbled across this single while searching for the album he had as a child, "Theme From Star Wars."

*The other disco version of the Star Wars theme he found online was an instrumental made in America and from the same time period.

*The lead singer is Masato Shimon.
