The Sprizen system was located in the Sprizen sector,[1] a part of the New Territories portion of[2] the Outer Rim Territories.[1] By 3705 BBY, the system was situated at the endpoint of the Sprizen End Run hyperlane, which connected it to[2] the Quelii sector's[1] Vinsoth system. Almost three millennia later, the majority of that hyperspace route had become a part of the Salin Corridor.[2]

At some point before the beginning of the Great Galactic War in 3681 BBY, the Sprizen system participated in the dispute known as the Celanon–Sprizen Negotiation, which was mediated by Jedi Consulars of the Jedi Order and was settled in favor of the traders of[3] the planet[4] Celanon. However, after trade boundaries shifted due to the Great Galactic War, the dispute was reopened.[3]

The Sprizen system was introduced in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, authored by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, which placed it in grid square N-5.[2]
