Spor crawlers were small eight-centimeter-long poisonous insects native to the planet Nar Bo Sholla.
Biology and appearance
Spor crawlers were small insects that had a double-pronged stinger on the end of the tail. They produced a powerful poison that was extremely painful to the victim. The poison could be treated by a standard medpac but the survivor remained in pain for several days. They reproduced by laying small, black eggs in the dead bodies of their prey. They had a life span that averaged three years in the wild, and reached up to ten years in captivity. They had large, multifaceted eyes that gave the creature a wide field of vision and eight legs for locomotion. Unlike many insects, spor crawlers did not have a hardened carapace and could easily be crushed.[1]
Behavior
The creatures liked to hide in small places or under soil and lived in hives of up to fifty individuals.[1]
History
The poison they generated in their double-pronged spiked tail made them widely sought by assassins and collectors of exotic creatures. This led them to being banned in many systems. If not banned, owners were required to de-venom the creatures.[1]
