The Spillwater system was located in the Candoras sector of the Outer Rim Territories.[1] It contained the Galactic Empire's Spillwater Fleet base.[2][3] In 0 ABY,[4] the Imperial Dreadnaught-class heavy cruiser Sarissa's fifty Caldorf VII interceptor missiles were removed and sent to the Imperial base for maintenance, as their guidance systems were suspected to be malfunctioning. However, they were stolen by the forces of the[2] Storm-hair[5] Warlord Nuso Esva.[2]
Behind the scenes
The system was introduced in the StarWars.com Online Companion to the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, written by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry which placed it in grid square J-5.[1]

(backup link) (screenshot) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas, stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. Given this principle, this article makes a similar basic assumption for the Spillwater Fleet base in relation to the Spillwater system.
