The Special Forces Clone Trooper was a type of special forces clone trooper employed by the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars against the Confederacy of Independent Systems.
Description
The Special Forces Clone Trooper a type of special forces clone trooper cloned from the template of the human bounty hunter Jango Fett for the Grand Army of the Republic. They fought for the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars against the Confederacy of Independent Systems.[2]
Special Forces Commanders
They had special bright blue armor out of durasteel with a helmet reminiscent of the later Imperial stormtrooper armor, but with only narrow white eye slits for increased protection. On the armor at the position of the heart was the Republic crest painted in white and on the top of the helmet was a red ensign of the special forces. They had a white pauldron on their right shoulder signifying their rank and a white utility belt. They carried a blaster rifle like other clone troopers and a blue see-through blaster shield.[3] Special Forces Commanders had the same armor, but in mostly white with blue arms and a blue special forces emblem and a blue kama around the hips instead of a pauldron.[2]
History
During the Clone Wars, a Special Forces Clone Trooper was hired by Jedi Grand Master Yoda to search for the fugitive Sith clone Jek-14 Republic. At some point, the clone trooper was present together with various bounty hunters in a room in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, where they were served by the protocol droid C-3PO. A firefight broke out in the room, when the Duros bounty hunter Cad Bane, who was arguing with the protocol droid, first threw a tablet with sandwiches at the table where the clone trooper was standing together with[4] a human bounty hunter,[3] and then while trying to kill the droid, accidentally shot a mug on their table.[4]
At some point later, both the Special Forces Clone Trooper and the the human bounty hunter hunted Jek-14 and ambushed him together on a rocky astronomical object. Jek-14 then fled into a room in a cave to his stealth starfighter and the duo followed him in, but inside the clone trooper was hit with Force lightning by Jek-14[1] and the former Sith managed to escape. The duo then spent time at a cantina on a desert planet when Jek-14 entered the cantina and ordered a drink and took of his helmet, which drew the attention of everyone in the room. The bounty hunter and the clone trooper tried to stop their bounty, but he again managed to escape to his starfighter.[5] In response to their repeated defeat, two former partners fought for a nearby Z-95 Headhunter. The Special Forces Clone Trooper managed to beat[6] his[3] former partner to the starfighter, but unbeknownst to him, the bounty hunter had climbed aboard the back of it's hull. When they were out of the orbit of the planet, the bounty hunter opened up the cockpit and threw the clone trooper out into space and climbed[6] himself[3] in. The bounty hunter then followed Jek-14 into an asteroid field and managed to briefly stun his ship, but the Force-sensitive instead rebuild it using the Force and destroyed the Headhunter with his starfighters cannons. Afterwards, Jek-14 rebuild the debris of the destroyed ship into a box around the bounty hunter and trapped him and the Special Forces Clone Trooper inside it and left them behind, leading to another fight between the two.[6]
Behind the scenes
The Special Forces Clone Trooper was created for the non-canonical animated series LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles. The character appeared briefly in the series second episode "Menace of the Sith",[4] which first aired on September 4, 2013,[7] and a tie-in set[1] and two animated advertisement shorts.[5][6] The LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles book released that same year then also included a Special Forces Commander minifigure.[2]
