A sound dampener,[1] also known as a sound damper,[2] was sonic dampening technology that was used to reduce weapon blast noise[1] and quietened the noise made by speeder bikes.[2] MM-s3 grenade launchers incorporated sound dampeners, located around the weapon's barrel.[1] Mobquet's Overracer was fitted with passive sound dampeners.[2]
