Sorian crystals were lightsaber crystals recognizable by their radiance. The blade produced when used to power a lightsaber would surge if it come into contact with another object moving at high speed. This could potentially throw off an opponent in a lightsaber duel, allowing the wielder of the sorian-powered blade time for a counterstrike.[1]
