The Solicitude was a[2] 1,600-meter-long[3] Imperial I-class Star Destroyer[1] in service to the Imperial Navy during the Imperial Era. Moden Canady began his career in the Imperial Navy as the commander of the Star Destroyer,[2] at which point he held the military rank of major.[1]
Years later, Canady went on to serve the First Order, successor to the Galactic Empire, as captain of the Mandator IV-class Siege Dreadnought Fulminatrix. On the Siege Dreadnought, Canady was resentful of his crew, who were young, incompetent, and lacked the training and experience of his former Imperial shipmates.[2]

The Solicitude was first mentioned in 2017 with the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi: The Visual Dictionary, a reference book written by Pablo Hidalgo.[4]
