A solar ionization reactor
The Solar ionization reactor was a type of hypermatter annihilation reactor that functioned through using hypermatter to create a miniature star inside the reactor chamber to draw energy from.[1] The I-a2b solar ionization reactor was a variant that was a standard installation aboard TIE/ln space superiority starfighters.[2]
The Imperial-class Star Destroyers in service of the Galactic Empire were equipped with such reactors,[3] as were the Xyston-class Star Destroyers of the Sith Eternal's fleet, the Final Order.[4]
