The snare pistol was cord-shooting weapon designed to ensnare a target so that they can be captured alive. The pistol fired a length of synthcord which wrapped around the target, hindering its ability to move or escape. The snare pistol was a smaller version of the snare rifle and the snare gun.[1]
Snare pistols were equipped onto B4J4 security droids, which were designed mainly for non-lethal protection within corporate buildings.[1]
The snare pistol weighed 2 kilograms and was able to fire 2 shots before needing to be reloaded. The weapon cost 600 credits. Replacement cartridges weighed 1 kilogram and cost 25 credits each.[1]
