Skitterers[2] were found on the frigid planet of Kijimi. The spiders were aggressive arachnids that guarded facilities of the Ashiga Clan.
Biology and appearance
Having a diminutive height compared to a human, the creature had six legs, along with a distinctive orange bulb located at the abdomen. The spider was covered in a dark-green skin and also possessed black eyes. The spiders were known to self-detonate towards its targets, creating a harmful, orange substance when detonated.[1]
Behavior
Despite being aggressive towards species such as humans, they were somewhat tamed by the Melitto hive of the Ashiga Clan, working alongside Ashiga Clan enforcers as guards for Ashiga facilities. As an offensive method, the species would engage in a suicidal detonation once it reaches an approximate range close to its targets.[1]
History
During 3 ABY,[3] the outlaw Kay Vess infiltrated the Ashiga Clan stronghold for Crimson Dawn to recruit Ank Parako, where she encountered such creatures that were present in the facility.[1]
Behind the scenes
Skitterers appeared in the 2024 video game Star Wars Outlaws, developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft.[1] They were not identified until the 2025 reference book The Art of Star Wars: Outlaws published by Dark Horse Books.[2]
