Skeleton weed

Skeleton weed was a species of shrub^[1] native to the planet Onderon, identifiable by the large holes on the surface of its leaves which made those leaves appear similar to bones. Skeleton weed was blue-gray in color, and grew in clusters across Onderon's surface. Skeleton weed could be found in forests,^[2] in small gardens in the city of Iziz,^[3] and in the mountains near where the Onderon rebels had set up a base during the Clone Wars.^[4]

Behind the scenes

Skeleton weed first appeared in "A War on Two Fronts" the second episode of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television show's fifth season,^[2] which aired on October 6, 2012.^[5] The plant then went on to appear in the following three episodes of the show, but was not named in any of them,^[3]^[6]^[4] first receiving identification in the reference book Star Wars: The Visual Encyclopedia, which was written by Adam Bray, Tricia Barr and Cole Horton^[1] and released on April 4, 2017.^[7]
