Sith dueling boots were a type of boot used by individuals affiliated with the Sith Empire during the Cold War between the Empire and the Galactic Republic. The boots were sometimes used by members of the Sith.
Description
A type of moderately armored boot, Sith dueling boots could be worn on the feet of species with similar foot structure to a Human's to be used as protection during combat. The boots were mostly red in color with silver-colored metal on the shins, the outer part of each foot and on the knees. Each of the metal pieces on the knees had a hollow red circle on them.[1]
History
Sith dueling boots were used by individuals affiliated with the Sith Empire during the Cold War, a period of unrest between the Empire and the Galactic Republic.
Around the year 3643 BBY,[2] an acolyte training to be a Sith Warrior at the Sith Academy on the planet Korriban received a pair of Sith dueling boots after helping Sergeant Cormun of the Imperial Army deal with an infestation of worm-like k'lor'slugs in the tomb of the Sith Lord Ajunta Pall.[1]
Behind the scenes
Sith dueling boots first appeared in Star Wars: The Old Republic, a 2011 MMORPG produced by BioWare. The boots were the reward for members of the Sith Warrior class who completed the mission "K'lor'slug Infestation" which was one of the first quests available to starting Sith Warriors and Sith Inquisitors on the planet Korriban. The quest could be completed by either the Inquisitor class or the Sith Warrior class, but only Sith Warriors received the Sith dueling boots.[1] The boots could also be crafted by Imperial characters with the Synthweaving crew skill using terenthium and rubat crystals.[3] The Sith dueling boots received by the Sith Warrior on Korriban were valued at 15 credits,[1] but the crafted boots' value varied upon the success of the crafting attempt.[3]

STAR WARS: The Old Republic - Question ! :) - Page 3 on The Old Republic's official website (backup link) places Star Wars: The Old Republic about ten to twelve years after the signing of the Treaty of Coruscant, which is dated to 3653 BBY by Star Wars: The Old Republic Encyclopedia. The Old Republic — The Lost Suns 2 takes place ten years after the treaty, one week after the mission to Nar Shaddaa, and around the time of the SpecForce Incident. Since the mission and the incident are respectively part of Act I of the Jedi Knight and Republic Trooper's storylines, and the Trooper's Act I occurs concurrent to Act I of the Smuggler storyline, the general events of the Prologue and Act I for all classes can be assumed to occur in 3643 BBY.
