The Sith Temple on Malrev IV was a temple erected by the Sith on Malrev IV. Malrev IV was a vital dark side hub during the New Sith Wars due to the planet being a focal point for the dark side. The Sith constructed many temples on the planet for their dark acolytes with only one having stood the tests of time. It focused dark side energy which could be put to use by even marginally Force-sensitive individuals. Emperor Palpatine discovered the existence of Malrev IV in the Sith archives and dispatched a construction team to build an outpost so he could study the temple and use it to augment his own powers.[2] Shortly after the Battle of Endor, the outpost was abandoned. One member of the construction team, a Devaronian technician named Cartariun, stayed behind to study the temple's power. The temple augmented his mild Force-connection, allowing him exert mental control over the native Irrukiine. Cartariun was defeated by Rogue Squadron in 4 ABY and the temple was destroyed when Rogue pilot Herian I'ngre rammed the structure with her X-wing, guided by fellow Rogue Dllr Nep inside the temple.[3]
