The Singing Mountain was a mountain on Dathomir. It was the center of the Singing Mountain Clan of Dathomiri Witches.
Description
The Singing Mountain was a volcanic mountain on the Outer Rim planet of Dathomir.[1] The mountain and the surrounding area was located on a landmass bordered by a body of water to the north and a deep river canyon that bordered the Asou Dankal region to the west, the Takal Nax region to the south ans the Rhoa Yenth region to the east.[3] The Singing Mountain also dominated the nearby Infinity Plain.[6]

The mountain gave its name to the clan of Witches of Dathomir that inhabited the area. The witches had established their village across the lower slopes of the mountain. The dwellings and work areas were arranged along natural terraces in the mountainside and in the valley, interspersed with orchards and open grounds used for gathering, training, and domestic activity. The village functioned in direct relationship to the fortress, which dominated the landscape from its higher position on the flank of the mountain. Stone steps carved directly into the dark basalt of the mountain linked the village and the fortress. This approach formed the only easily access as all other faces of the mountain fell away in cliffs, shelves, and jagged crags. Together, the two formed a unified settlement, the village serving as the living base of the population and the fortress acting as the defensive, ceremonial, and political center.[1]
