Silica parasite

Silica parasites were creatures that consumed mineral matter in order to survive. They made up the bottom rung of the food chain on the planet Coruscant, where they developed anatomies that could be nourished by the building fabric available in Galactic City, the ecumenopolis that covered the world.^[1]
