The Shirb system was a star system located in the Ciutric sector,[1] a part of the New Territories portion of[2] the Outer Rim Territories.[1] Located on the Celanon Spur hyperlane between the Vinsoth and Shaum Hii systems,[2] it contained[3] the planet of[4] New Holgha.[3]
New Holgha was attacked by the Yuuzhan Vong three months into their invasion of the galaxy[3] in 25 ABY.[2] Boba Fett, leader of the Mandalorian Protectors, under the guise of aiding the Yuuzhan Vong in their conquest on the planet, traveled to the Shirb system. However, he turned on the invaders and encountered Jedi Knight Kubariet, whom Fett enlisted in funneling intelligence to the New Republic after it had failed to protect the world.[3] Subsequently, the system fell under the rule of the Yuuzhan Vong empire.[2]
Behind the scenes
The Shirb system made its first appearance in the 2006 e-novella Boba Fett: A Practical Man by Karen Traviss.[3] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the system in grid square N-5.[2]
