The Shipyard Depot was a vast salvage yard on the planet Coruscant. It was utilized by the New Republic Defense Force to decommissioned Star Destroyers from the former Imperial Navy and were also simultaneously dismantling the Alliance Fleet, and as such was guarded by New Republic soldiers. The shipyard shared its name with the hovertrain station of the Coruscant transit network servicing the area.
History
In 9 ABY,[1] Penn Pershing and another member of Moff Gideon Imperial remnant, Elia Kane, at the time part of the New Republic Amnesty Program, infiltrated the shipyard to steal a mobile lab to facilitate the former's cloning research. However, Kane exposed the conspiracy to the New Republic and Pershing was arrested and sent to the Re-Integration Institute.[2]
