- "Command station, this is ST-321, code clearance blue. We are starting our approach. Deactivate the security shield."
"The security deflector shield will be deactivated when we have confirmation of your code transmission. Stand by." - ―Captain Yorr and Jad Bean
Shield operator was a position held by crew members of the Galactic Empire's Death Star II battle station that included controlling the station's deflector shield.[2] In 4 ABY,[3] the Death Star Trooper Jad Bean was stationed as a shield operator and flight controller on the Death Star's overbridge[4] control center[5] when[1] Captain Yorr[6] of the Imperial shuttle ST 321 contacted him via comms to request the shield be deactivated. Once Bean had received confirmation of Yorr's code transmission, he flipped a switch that sent a signal to the Death Star's shield generator on the moon Endor, causing a section of the station's shield to be temporarily disabled as ST-321 passed through.[2]
