Shai Tenna was a male Weequay who was the leader of a group belonging to the White Maw pirates, during the Cold War and the Galactic War between the Galactic Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire.
Biography
- "Of course, I killed both my brothers."
- ―Shai Tenna
In 3642 BBY,[1] during the Galactic War, Tenna was sent to Hoth by Rogun the Butcher to take over the White Maw pirate gang. At the same time, the smuggler later known as the Voidhound, working as a privateer for the Galactic Republic, arrived on the frozen planet in search of a cloaking device that enabled the White Maw to hide their ships.[2]
Tenna's lackey Languss Tuno set up a meeting between his superior and the Voidhound, the latter seeking to join the White Maw. Tenna told the smuggler that they need to perform a task for him before he inducts them. His rival, Kandhar, was dealing with Imperials to acquire cold-weather droids and blasters to gain favor with the White Maw's Gen'Dai leaders. Tenna left the details on how to accomplish this to his slave, Alilia.[2]
After the Voidhound accomplished this task by turning Kandhar's own men against him, Tenna reneged on their deal and threw the smuggler into a wampa cave and began a coup against the White Maw.[2]
Tenna later confronted the Voidhound in the wreckage of the Star of Coruscant, after having captured the turncoat Tuno. The smuggler had discovered that the cloaking device was actually a mentally-impaired Force-sensitive Kitonak known as Trick. Tenna and his men attacked the Voidhound but the gangster was killed in the fight.[4]

STAR WARS: The Old Republic - Question ! :) - Page 3 on The Old Republic's official website (backup link) places Star Wars: The Old Republic's base game content about ten to twelve years after the signing of the Treaty of Coruscant, which is dated to 3653 BBY by Star Wars: The Old Republic Encyclopedia. The Prologue and Act I of the class storylines are assumed to take place in 3643 BBY, as they are roughly concurrent to each other and the Jedi Knight Act I storyline is dated to 3643 BBY by The Old Republic — The Lost Suns 2. Additionally,
Forums: Dear Story Team, What Year Are We Currently In? on The Old Republic's official website (backup link) and Star Wars: The Old Republic Encyclopedia establish that the Battle of Ilum and the end of Act III for the class stories occur in 3640 BBY. Additionally, Act II for all classes, while featuring conflict between the two factions, occurs prior to the official collapse of the Treaty of Coruscant, which The Old Republic: Annihilation places in the middle of 3641 BBY. Taken together, this means that base game content spans from 3643 BBY to 3640 BBY, and the class storylines extend over this period, this article assumes that Act II takes place within 3642 BBY and the first half of 3641 BBY. The events on Hoth for the Smuggler class, including the encounter with Kandhar and his subsequent death, take place in Act II and can therefore be placed around 3642 BBY.
