Sentry towers, also known as recon-towers or sentry posts, were small vertical structures used as a vantage point for security and military forces. They were utilized by various groups, including the Rebel Alliance, the Galactic Empire, the Grand Army of the Republic, the Confederacy of Independent Systems, the Trade Federation, the Royal Naboo Security Forces, the Wookiees, and the Gungans.

The Rebel Alliance used recon-towers which rose high above the treetops on Yavin 4. From them, Rebel sentries would track incoming and outgoing traffic.[2]
