Self-repair systems were a type of sophisticated armor modification that allowed a piece of armor to repair itself and remain functional even under great duress. The modification was not dissimilar to the self-repair systems found in some droids made use of smart materials, laminate extruders, electromagnetic assemblers, and other systems.[1]
A self repair system cost 3000 credits during the Galactic Civil War, with models including Industrial Automaton's Model 3 Autorepair Suite and AccuTronics Advanced Repair Unit. The modification was used by individuals who lived life in near constant battle on the fringes of galactic civilization, for whom keeping a good suit of armor in top condition was vital.[1]
Behind the scenes
Self-repair systems were introduced in Special Modifications, a 2016 roleplaying supplement for Star Wars: Age of Rebellion which was published by Fantasy Flight Games.[1]
