Seed bread was a type of bread edible to humans. During the High Republic Era, the Starlight Beacon space station had kitchen droids that served the bread in a dining facility. While on the station[2] in 231 BBY,[3] the Jedi Padawan Reath Silas acquired some of the freshly baked bread, intending to pair it with thick bantha butter and yellow chime fruit preserve.[2]
Following her wedding to Rebel Alliance general Han Solo on the moon Endor[1] in 4 ABY,[4] Princess Leia Organa ate some seed bread smeared with cheese spread and honey. When Solo brought two meat skewers over for them to share, she gave half her bread to him.[1]
Behind the scenes
Seed bread first appeared in Out of the Shadows, a 2021 young-adult novel written by Justina Ireland as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[2] Phase I.[5]
