A security beacon was a type of technology used to bypass security systems. This kind of device typically needed a sequencer to be functional with specific security systems. Following the Battle of Yavin, a spacer used a security beacon to retrieve an experimental Old Republic droid module from a droideka studied at Stonewall Labs on Naboo.[1]
