Section A2 was a location within Lothal's Imperial Armory Complex where the TIE Defender project was being designed. Morad Sumar confirmed to Jedi Padawan Ezra Bridger that the Empire had recently tightened security in the section and transferred their best workers there. Sumar determined that was the reason he and his coworkers were recruited to the labor force. Sumar helped Bridger and Kanan Jarrus inflitrate the Imperial Complex, so they could send the stolen schematics to rebel command.^[1]

After the Jedi disguised themselves as stormtroopers, they and Chopper ran across the complex, arriving outside Section A2. Chopper then stunned a R4 courier droid and entered the section to copy the Defender's blueprints, while Jarrus and Bridger stood guard. While Chopper copied the data, a stormtrooper commander and their two subordinates discovered the rebels' presence. They questioned the rebels asking them what they were doing there. After Jarrus informed the stormtrooper they were on guard duty, the trooper informed them it was highly irregular and requested their operating numbers. As the stormtroopers approached the disguised rebels, Chopper exited Section A2 with the Defender's schematics. Jarrus then questioned the stormtrooper commander asking them if they were at Section B17, to which the stormtrooper replied they were at A2. Soon after, Grand Admiral Thrawn confirmed to Governor Pryce that an unlicensed droid accessed the computers in Section A2. He informed Pryce that he was sure that the rebels acquired his plans for the TIE Defender as a result.^[1]
