The Secessionist Faction, also known as the Secessionists, was an extremist faction within the Galactic Republic's Pacifist faction. Part of a new Republic Senate political paradigm, the faction was formed during the Separatist Crisis,[1] which began in 24 BBY and took place until 22 BBY.[2] They advocated their own approaches to addressing the rising threat of the Separatist Alliance.[1]
The Secessionists represented star systems that considered leaving the Republic. Though relatively small as a voting bloc, vital and opportunistic systems could increase their influence by threatening with secession. Even then, most still contended for diplomatic solutions and hoped to legitimize the Separatist Alliance, an effort that ultimately failed and resulted in the Clone Wars,[1] fought from 22 BBY to 19 BBY.[3]

The Secessionist Faction was introduced in Rise of the Separatists, a 2019 supplement to Fantasy Flight Games' Star Wars Roleplaying product series.[1]
