Sealant foam was a type of foam that, when in dried form, was both lightweight and as sturdy as duracrete building material. While on a mission to the planet Eyo-Dajuritz[1] around 19 BBY,[2] the rebel fighter Saw Gerrera and the operative Soujen Vak-Nhalis, who were leading a group of Partisans, had sealant foam with them. The group took Senator Bail Organa and the Imperial Intelligence operative Haki Zeophrine hostage in the cache site they were raiding, using sealant foam to bind their hands and feet. When an Imperial Military transport approached their location, the Partisans freed the pair from their restraints by hammering at the hardened foam until the insulation broke away. As Organa stood up, he worked to remove chunks of the substance from his elbows and knees.[1]

Behind the scenes

Sealant foam appeared in the 2025 novel Reign of the Empire: The Mask of Fear, written by Alexander Freed as the first installment of the Star Wars: Reign of the Empire trilogy.[1]
