Scourge Squadron was an naval squadron of the Pentastar Patrol under the Pentastar Alignment. It previously was part of the Imperial Navy of the Galactic Empire, where it was similar in composition and role to that of Death Squadron.
Description
Scourge Squadron was a task force of 24 Imperial-class Star Destroyers led by the Star Dreadnought Reaper.[1]
History
As part of the Outer Rim Imperial Fleet, Scourge Squadron came under the command of Grand Moff Ardus Kaine when he was promoted to take over Oversector Outer as a replacement to Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin.[1] Scourge Squadron's primary mission was to hunt down Rebel activity in the Outer Rim Territories.[2]
Later on, when Grand Moff Kaine turned warlord, he ordered Scourge Squadron to regroup in the New Territories in open defiance against the Empire.[1] The fleet eventually served as the primary military muscle behind his Pentastar Alignment.[2] The disappareance of Scourge Squadron in Oversector Outer contributed to the quick progression of the New Republic fleet after the Battle of Endor.[1]
