- "[…] this rich merchant—guy named Danager—laughed and said if I drove the Norries off, he'd give me the deed to one of his breweries on Clendor. That got everybody laughing at me—I think I also got offered the Imperial Palace and the Sceptre of Nopachi—but I didn't mind."
- ―Lando Calrissian, Oral History of the New Republic
The Sceptre of Nopachi was an artifact[3] that originated in[2] the Core Worlds' Nopachi system.[1] In 0 ABY,[4] the spacer Lando Calrissian claimed to the patrons of a casino on the Inner Rim agriworld Taanab that he could drive off the Norulac Freebooters pirate gang that was causing trouble for the planet. In response, the merchant Gathal Danager laughingly promised him the deed to one of his breweries. Other patrons then joined in on the ridiculing of Calrissian's claim, and, in an interview with the historian Voren Na'al that was included in the work Oral History of the New Republic years later, Calrissian noted his recollection that at that point he was also offered the Sceptre of Nopachi for driving off the pirates.[3]
Behind the scenes
The Sceptre of Nopachi was introduced in the 2012 reference book The Essential Guide to Warfare by Jason Fry and Paul R. Urquhart.[3]

(backup link) (screenshot) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas, stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. Given this principle, this article makes a similar basic assumption for the Sceptre of Nopachi in relation to the Nopachi system.
