Sannab Ro was a Xidelphiad female artist. During the Separatist Crisis, she created the The Military Creation Act propaganda poster for the Commission for a Safe and Secure Republic, encouraging individuals to vote in favor of the Military Creation Act. Following the Hosnian Cataclysm of 34 ABY, the book A History of Persuasive Art in the Galaxy—a work looking at the usage of propaganda by various factions—was released and detailed information about Ro. By that time, Ro was undergoing her fourth protogynic phase and was expected to emerge in the future as a male within fifteen years.
Biography
The Military Creation Act, Sannab Ro's poster
The Xidelphiad Sannab Ro led a storied career as a fine artist. During the Republic Era, she worked for the Commission for a Safe and Secure Republic, a non-profit think tank headquartered on Level 5121 of the galactic capital planet Coruscant.[1] At some point by 23 BBY[2] during the Separatist Crisis, as the Galactic Senate's vote on the Military Creation Act drew nearer, Ro created a propaganda poster—The Military Creation Act—for the commission, intended for use in the Core Worlds.[1]
Using sparse and simplistic imagery, the poster prompted viewers to vote yes on the act, which would allow the Galactic Republic to create a standing military.[1] The Grand Army of the Republic was ultimately formed in 22 BBY upon the expansion of the Emergency Powers Act, granting Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine the power necessary to create the military.[3]
Not long after the Hosnian Cataclysm[1] of 34 ABY,[3] the book A History of Persuasive Art in the Galaxy—a work looking at the usage of propaganda by various factions—was released and contained information detailing Ro's art and life story. By then, Ro had entered her fourth protogynic phase as a chrysalis on Coruscant's Level 5121 and was expected to emerge as a male in the future, likely within fifteen years.[1]
Personality and traits
As a Xidelphiad, Ro underwent several protogynic phases in her life. By the time of the Separatist Crisis, she was female, though by the period following the Hosnian Cataclysm, she was in chrysalis form, expecting to emerge as a male. As an artist during the Separatist Crisis, Ro sought to draw sophisticated pieces in style at the time.[1]
Behind the scenes
Sannab Ro was mentioned in Star Wars Propaganda: A History of Persuasive Art in the Galaxy, a 2016 reference book written by Pablo Hidalgo.[1]
