"Oh, I don't even know if I made the final cut. It was one day many years ago. I was still in drama school. A friend was working on it and got me in. I was in a huge audience scene. We were replicated about a thousand times."
―Sally Hawkins[3]

Sally Hawkins (born April 27, 1976,[1] in Dulwich, London, United Kingdom) is a British actress[2] who appeared as an uncredited extra[3] in the 1999[4] film Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace,[3] playing a spectator watching the marching Gungans during the celebration[5] of the end of the Invasion of Naboo.[4] Hawkins was attending drama school at the time and got the job via a friend who was working on the film. She wore a chiffon costume for the part and was digitally replicated several times, receiving 100 British pounds in payment.[3]

Hawkins later rose to prominence with the 2008 film Happy-Go-Lucky.[1] In a 2013 interview, Hawkins stated that she was unsure if her Star Wars scene had made the final cut of the film,[3] but in a 2015 appearance on the talk show Conan with Conan O'Brien, her presence in the film was identified, prompting Hawkins to admit that she had still not seen the film.[5]
