Salky hounds were genetically-engineered kath hounds. The breeding resulted in the animals that were highly aggressive and difficult to control.[1] A preliminary advertisement for Vontor's Eve engagements presented to Grakkus by Toren included a match featuring salky hounds. A copy of this poster was placed within the pages of the Smuggler's Guide while the book was in Toren's possession.[2]
Behind the scenes
Salky hound was first mentioned in the new Star Wars canon in the 2016 Star Wars Roleplaying supplement Savage Spirits, which was published by Fantasy Flight Games.[1]
