Saclas was a barren Outer Rim Territories planet located in the Corporate Sector. Home to gelatinous pet slimes, it was a colony world of the sentient Ocsin species. Saclas was frequently visited both by Ocsin merchants travelling to Galactic Empire–controlled space and free-traders and smugglers making cautious trips into Corporate Sector Authority territory, and the world had a rough-and-tumble reputation. The Ocsin future member of the Zulirian Swordmasters group Cene Gilvent grew up on Saclas, where she eventually earned enough money to travel offworld.
Description
Saclas was a barren planet[3] that was situated in the Saclas system[1] and was located just inside the borders of[2] the Outer Rim Territories' Corporate Sector.[1] It was situated on the Solenbaran Merchant Route hyperlane, which linked it to the Jerrist system as well as the neighboring Wyl sector. Saclas also lay at one endpoint of the route known as the Tertiary Solenbaran, which connected it to the Duroon system.[2] The planet was of little overall importance but was renowned for its gelatinous pet slimes, which were highly popular among young members of the sentient Gamorrean species,[3] native to the planet Gamorr[2] in the Outer Rim's Galov sector.[4]
History
Saclas was under the control of the Corporate Sector Authority, the entity administrating the Corporate Sector.[2] The female Ocsin Cene Gilvent grew up on Saclas, where, during her late teenage years, she earned enough money harvesting gelatinous pet slimes to buy passage to the Mid Rim, where she eventually became a member of the Zulirian Swordmasters group of melee weapon afficionados.[3]
Inhabitants
Saclas was a colony world of the Ocsin species, which hailed from the Wild Space celestial body Farana. It was frequently visited by Ocsin merchants who were traveling down the Solenbaran Merchant Route to Galactic Empire–controlled space. Another group of common visitors to Saclas were free-traders and smugglers who avoided entering deeper into the Corporate Sector Authority's territory.[2]
Locations
The rough-and-tumble[5] Saclas featured an assortment of hardscrabble spaceports and cantinas which likewise had a reputation of being rough.[2]
Behind the scenes
Saclas was first mentioned in Alliance Intelligence Reports, a 1995 sourcebook for West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[3] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas subsequently placed it in grid square S-4.[2]
