- "Two hours ago my people intercepted a signal emanating from the secret research facility above Ipsus."
- ―Nirama
During the Clone Wars a research station operated in secret in orbit of S-Ipsus, a sub-city of the floating city Ipsus on the planet Genarius. The station was established[1] in around 21 BBY[2] to facilitate the study of a virus fatal to the Caarite species developed by the Believers Sith cult, in an attempt to better understand the contagion. The crime lord Nirama learned of the research station and unofficially monitored the work conducted at the facility. After a bomb containing a sample of the anti-Caarite virus was recovered by a group of freelance agents from the moon Tilnes, the explosive device was taken to the S-Ipsus research station for further study. There, a tracking beacon contained within the device activated and sent a signal to a concealed Believer laboratory on S-Ipsus informing the cultists that the device had not been detonated.[1]

- ↑ The Living Force Campaign Guide states that the Living Force campaign is set one year after the Invasion of Naboo, an event that is dated to 32 BBY by The New Essential Chronology. As the Living Force adventure Philology moved the campaign forward ten years to the time of the Clone Wars, the events depicted in Open Aarms can therefore be dated to circa 21 BBY.
