Rubber was any type of material with the mechanical or material property that could undergo much more elastic deformation under stress than most materials and still return to its previous size without permanent deformation. Rubber was normally used to make droid parts.
In 1 ABY there were several cargo containers in the warehouses of Ramsees Hed, bearing the Alliance Starbird, marked with High Galactic letters that they contained each a ton of "rubber ducks".[1]
